Buck's Bluegill Spider
| A little history to go with this fly. The fly is tied on a
number 8 Black Pool Nymph and Wet Fly hook made in England by the Sheffield Co. It
Was purchased from Herter's of Waseca, Minnesota sometime between the years of 1945 and 50. Buck tied the fly larger than usual for bluegills because he felts dat smaller bluegills would not to be able to get it in its mouth. Seems to work, because he caught many 8 1/2 and 9 in bluegills on the very same fly. |
